Speaker Series: IOTA (Supply Chain)

IOTA is a revolutionary new transaction settlement and data transfer layer for the Internet of Things (IoT). It is based on a new distributed ledger technology, the Tangle, which overcomes the inefficiencies of current Blockchain designs and introduces a new way of reaching consensus in a decentralized peer-to-peer system.

Nelson from the IOTA foundation visited USC to demo a supply chain application showing off the impressive capabilities achievable and walked through a tutorial on how to connect your own projects to an online data marketplace such as IOTA’s.

USC Blockathon

Co-organized by the Trojan Blockchain Society, USC Blockathon is the University of Southern California’s first blockchain hackathon aimed at bringing non-blockchain and blockchain-orientated developers together to create various blockchain solutions. USC is evolving around Los Angeles’s ever-growing blockchain ecosystem and aims to churn the brightest and most promising hackers this space has ever seen. We aspire to create a welcoming experience that promotes creativity, novelty, and innovation. We are determined to have an all-inclusive and diverse group of students and Los Angelenos attending our event.

Mike Aldy has been a contributor to the DigiByte Awareness Team since May of this year as he looked for a way to incorporate his experience in television marketing with blockchain technology. He has worked in Post Production for the past twenty years, and currently works as an Assistant Editor and Media Manager for Fox On-Air Promotions: Prime Time Entertainment. Mike believes that blockchain technology will revolutionize the way we communicate with each other and deliver on the promise of a better tomorrow.

Speaker Series: Coinbase (Crypto and Blockchain)

Coinbase is the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the United States and operates a platform that facilitates the easy use of digital currency for consumers and merchants worldwide.

Coinbase is hosting a workshop of an introduction to cryptocurrency and blockchain! They will be presenting on “Bitcoin, made simple”. In addition to Coinbase engineers, there will be recruiters at the workshop to talk about full time and internship opportunities.
